Terminal Information
Hong Kong International Airport has two passenger terminals on Lantau Island. Terminal 1 is the main building handling all departures and most arrivals. Terminal 2 handles check-in only (no departures gates) — passengers transfer by automated shuttle to T1 for boarding.
Gates & Boarding
All departure gates are in T1. Gates 1–69 handle most traffic; gates 70–100 in the satellite concourse (connected by automated people mover). Remote gates use bus transfers. The Midfield Concourse (gates 200–230) opened in 2015.

Facilities & Services
Outstanding duty-free and dining — Sky Plaza and SkyMart. The Airport Express MTR runs to Hong Kong Station in 24 min (HK$115 one-way, ~HK$180 round trip). Octopus card accepted. Taxis to Kowloon ~HK$350, Hong Kong Island ~HK$450.
Insider Tips
Check-in at T2 is available to reduce queues but allow time for shuttle to T1. The Airport Express has in-town check-in at Hong Kong and Kowloon stations — check in up to 1 day before departure. The airport is built on reclaimed land — remarkable views on approach.
